Discover the fascinating and diverse works of Georgian women artists from the past century to the present day

The exhibition which introduced Hungarian audience to the artistry of Georgian women from the past century to the present day, was held in Budapest, at Pesti Vigado halls on May 29 – June 30, 2024 and marked the Georgian Independence Day. Catalogs were published in Hungarian and Georgian languages.

NEW COLLECTION OF THE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS 2021-2022

Catalog of New Acquisitions (2021–2022) for the Shalva Amiranashvili State Museum of Fine Art. In 2021–2022, the Ministry of Culture and Sport of Georgia significantly expanded the Shalva Amiranashvili State Museum of Fine Art’s collection, focusing on modern and contemporary Georgian art. The catalog features the highlights of the new acquisitions.

Chingiz Farzaliyev - Along the Steps of Time

Along the Steps of Time, a show featuring the famous Azerbaijani artist Chingiz Farzaliyev, was run at the Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery from April 12 to May 10. Chingiz Farzaliyev’s art is recognized for its beautiful landscapes, still lifes, and philosophical content.

Returned Collections 2021-2023

Catalog of the Returned Collections 2021-2023 features pieces by renowned Georgian artists such as Sergo Kobuladze, Elene Akhvlediani, Apolon Kutateladze, Edmond Kaladadze, Dimitri Khakhutashvili, Guram (Khita) Kutateladze, Givi Toidze, Irakli Sutidze, Levan Lagidze, Zaza Berdzenishvili, Tamaz Kakabadze, Temo Japaridze, Vazha Melikishvili, Nodar Topuria, Simon Girkelidze, Vazha Melikishvili, Shota Lejava, Zaur Deisadze, Kote Chankvetadze, Gela Mandzhavidze and others. The National Museum has recently reclaimed several important works by artists such as Grigory Gagarin, Lev Lagorio, Karl Zhukovsky, Yevgeny Lanceray, and Boris Fogel.

NEW COLLECTION OF THE MUSEUM OF ARTS OF GEORGIA 2023-2024

.Catalog of New Acquisitions (2023–2024) Shalva Amiranashvili State Museum of Arts In 2023–2024, the Ministry of Culture of Georgia significantly expanded the collection of the Shalva Amiranashvili State Museum of Arts. The process of updating and replenishing the museum's collection resumed in January 2023. During this period, the museum’s holdings of new and modern Georgian art, Western European art, Russian art, and art from neighboring countries were enriched with 69 works, including paintings, graphics, sculptures, and collages. These acquisitions feature works by notable artists such as Alexander Bazhbeuk-Melikyan, Kirill Zdanevich, Vera Rockline-Schlesinger, Felix Varlamishvili, Karlo Grigolia, Vazha Melikishvili, Vladimir Yakovlev, Rusudan Gachechiladze, Gayane Khachaturian, Simon Girkelidze, and others.

Sophia Cherkezishvili : And then she said maybe

At the Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery, an exhibition by Sophio Cherkezishvili titled And Then She Said Maybe was held. The artist dedicated the exhibition with these words: "I dedicate this story to trees I imagine can fly, To bridges and labyrinths I am certain to construct, To fairy tales I am sure to believe in, And to bells I will probably hear." This is how the artist explains the main concept and structural principle of the exhibition. In addition to 28 paintings, the exhibition also featured an installation titled Trees Know How to Stand by You.
