Irakli Zhvania is a contemporary Georgian monumental sculptor, born on September 1, 1966. He received his formal education at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts between 1987 and 1991, specializing in monumental sculpture under the tutelage of Zurab Tsereteli. His creative portfolio encompasses monumental and kinetic sculptures, figurative compositions, and sculptural fountains.

The artist’s professional career began with his diploma project, “The Little Prince.” This sculpture-fountain was later installed in the Round Garden (Mrgvali Baghi) in Tbilisi in 1999 and is regarded as the artist’s first major public work.

Zhvania has been actively engaged in creative practice since the early 2000s. His works are displayed across various regions of Georgia and abroad. The artist has completed approximately 35 sculptural fountain projects and 12 monumental sculpture projects. Due to the specific nature of his work, all of his creations are permanently installed in public spaces; the artist does not hold solo exhibitions. In 1999, Irakli Zhvania was awarded the Order of Honor, and in 2000, he was granted the title of Honored Artist of Georgia.
