Lasareishvili Luka (Luka Lazar)

Luka Lasareishvili, also known as Luca Lazar, is an independent professional artist who has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums since 1982. He works across various media, including painting, installations, objects, and video art.

In 1989, Lazar served as an artist-in-residence at the Museum Fridericianum in Kassel, Germany. He has lived and worked in Cologne, Germany, and, since 2003, in New York, USA.

By the late 1990s, Lazar began to focus primarily on geometrical art, which later evolved into minimalistic abstract explorations. This period produced notable series such as “The White Curtain” and “One-liners.” From this point onward, Lazar developed a distinctive style that blends minimalistic abstract art, geometric art, and optical art with undertones of expressionism. This unique approach resulted in works that defy classification within any existing art direction or style.

His series, titled “Moving Stills,” creates the sensation of continuous flowing movement in space, a hallmark of his innovative vision.

Luca Lazar’s exhibitions have been showcased in cities worldwide, including Moscow, Paris, Basel, Hamburg, Munich, Kassel, Kiel, Warsaw, Berlin, Dallas, and New York.
