Edmond Kalandadze is one of the most important figures of modern Georgian Art. From the period of his student years, 1940ies he was distinguished as very talented and active artist. The work of this period of Georgian artists got the status of political and cultural event. The works of Kalandadze reflected cultural tendencies of the epoch; concerning the form and style, as well as – idea and world vision issues. Each of Kalandadze’s works is an active attempt to create a model of the world and express his own attitude towards it. Each canvas is created and offered to us in the form of a microcosm, in which Edmond Kalandadze presents an individual artistic method of perceiving the world, interpreting and realizing it. Feelings, intuition, color vision play a great role in his creations, at the same time, he fully feels and understands the diversity of the world and its color, form and mood nuances.
