Tamar Gedevanshvili is a contemporary Georgian visual artist whose practice encompasses painting, drawing, and mixed media. Working primarily in acrylic, she also creates graphic series on paper napkins. Her work frequently explores the human body as a site of memory, personal experience, and inner emotional life.
Gedevanshvili studied architecture and graphic design at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. Alongside her artistic practice, she works as a graphic designer in the advertising industry. She is also an associate professor at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), where she teaches visual communication and drawing.
Her work has been exhibited extensively in Georgia and abroad. Recent international presentations include Beyond the Silence, a group exhibition of Georgian women artists held at Eristavi Gallery in Antwerp in 2026. The same year, she participated in Healing, presented by ARTTENT Gallery at Tbilisi Art Fair (TAF 2026) under the direction of gallerist Maia Bichikashvili.
In 2024, her work was included in Home, an exhibition in Basel jointly organized by Lyceum Club Basel and Lyceum Club Tbilisi and curated by Sofia Keburia. In 2025, she contributed to the EAR Valle del Ambroz Music Festival in Hervás and Baños de Montemayor, Spain, developing the festival’s visual identity, including its symbol, logo, and poster.
Her most significant solo exhibitions include Given Time, held at Collect Art Gallery in 2025 and curated by Tamar Khelashvili, and Improper Intersections, presented at the Tbilisi History Museum—Karvasla in 2022 and curated by Lika Mamatsashvili. These exhibitions brought the recurring themes of the body, time, memory, and lived experience to the forefront of her practice.
Gedevanshvili is also a regular participant in group exhibitions. Recent examples include DRAWINGS, an exhibition of works on paper held at Collect Art Gallery in 2025 and curated by Tamar Khelashvili; FIESTA, presented at Gallery No. 9 in 2024 and curated by Maka Iovadze; and Our Time and Connections, both presented in 2023 and curated by Khatuna Khabuliani. In 2026, she took part in Fathers and Sons: A Dialogue of Generations, an exhibition curated by Eliso Chogovadze to mark the 50th anniversary of the David Kakabadze Fine Art Gallery in Kutaisi.
She has also participated in several public and charitable initiatives, including the 2025 charity exhibition and sale We Color Georgia, as well as a fundraising exhibition organized by Collect Art Gallery and Gallery No. 9 in support of the #Elene campaign.
