Otar Vepkhvadze was born in the city of Borjomi (Georgia). He graduated from the Faculty of Decorative and Applied Arts of the Tbilisi State Academy of Art (1975). Teacher of Tbilisi State Academy of Art (1990-1992); Teacher at Phoenix Art University (Arizona, USA) (1991). Otar Vefkhvadze is the author of the following works: “Spring” (1978), “Hellados” (1986), “Gelati” (Picasso silver medal at the Valoris competition, 1981), Decorative Lark (prize for the best interior ceramics, Erfurt, 1982), and “Immortality” (1984). He made ceramic works for the hotel “Gudauri” (Gudauri, 1986); he participated in the decoration of the Moscow metro station “Petrovsko-Razumovsky” (1989); and others. He was a stage designer for the films “Matsgi” (1986), “Curved Staircase” (2000). His works are preserved in: the National Gallery of Georgia, the State Art Museum, the Art Museum of Eastern Peoples (Moscow), the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts, the “Express-Avantgard Gallery” (Moscow), and others.
