Reno Turkia was born in Sokhumi, in 1926. He graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1966. He was teaching at the Academy 1959. After 1940 he was actively participated in local and international exhibitions. Reno Turkia main medium was painting. His portraits and landscapes are always recognisable with his individual artistic signature and feature colors. Artworks by Reno Turkia are stored in different museums (Georgian State Art Museum, National Gallery, Tbilisi, Georgia; Telavi State Historical-Ethnographic Museum, Georgia; Signagi Local Museum, Georgia; Ambrolauri Fine Arts Museum, Georgia) and private collections.
