Sculptor Erekle Tsuladze, after graduating from public school, first graduated the Iakob Nikoladze Art College – Faculty of Graphics, then – Tbilisi State Academy of
Arts, Faculty of Sculpture. Erekle’s first work, the statue called “Me, you and Batumi” was placed in Georgia in Batumi Boulevard in 2012. The statue “Begi” was so emotional for the author and Tbilisi citizens, as it represents a symbol of the famous tragedy of Tbilisi (the flood of June 13), it was placed in one of central public spaces of Tbilisi in “Mziuri Park” in 2022. It is made of mirror stainless steel 316L. Erekle is a pioneer in Georgian sculpture who used this material. The Emigrants’ Memorial is made with the same technique and its scale is 7 meters.
The concept of the sculptor’s work is to create an ideal form that will be based on
traditional foundations, but at the same time will be modern and individual, its surface
will reflect the surrounding space and create harmony with the space. A person standing next to the statue will have the ability to look in the mirror and see himself/herself and become a part of it. An algorithm will be created based on which an application will then be developed. The application will have a list of functions and
a person will be able to move the statue, give it color, sound, voice, or ask for advice in different languages.
During his creative creer, Erekle has held four personal exhibitions. The first retrospective exhibition was opened at the National Folklore Center in 2013; Exhibition of Erekle with 50 sculptures, named “Ereklektika” were presented in the Museum of Modern Fine Arts; exhibition in the space of CROSTY Concept in 2022; “Station 34” – Gamrekeli modern gallery space (2022).
Erekle’s works are preserved in various private collections around the world; he has decorated several private spaces. He was awarded with number of diplomas and certificates. He is a scholarship holder of the President of Georgia, he received an honorary award from the Lithuanian government and he is the winner of the competition announced by the Tbilisi City Hall.
