Shvelidze Malkhaz 

Malkhaz Shvelidze, a ceramic artist, is the author of the concept of the Georgian Lari symbol. Born in the city of Kutaisi (Georgia), graduated from the design faculty of the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. 1992-1993: worked as a ceramics teacher in Herning (Denmark); participated in exhibitions since 1979. His main works are: Fountain, Sochi Actor’s House (1989); Horsemen (1990); “Soul of the Place” (Italy, 1992); Series “Seated Figures” (1991-1999). Participated in exhibitions: “Young Georgian ceramists” (Kaunas, 1989), Paris, Cannes (1990), “Young Georgian artists in France” (Gallery “Mona Bismarck”), “Georgian art” (Varna, 1990; Rome, 1992; Tbilisi “Ivertbank” and Gallery “Orient”, 1996), “Contemporary Georgian Art” (Brindis, 1991), Ceramics (Herning, 1993), Gallery “Tbilisi” (1996-1997), Gallery “Orient” (1998-1999). His works are in private collections in France, Italy, Denmark, Germany, the USA, Bulgaria, and Holland.
