Ketevan Matabeli graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1978. She is a distinguished artist, who creates
graphics, collages and assemblages, which are decorated with various materials and has original style. In 1984 she created a series of paintings “Old Tbilisi”. The illustrations for the poem “The Knight in the Tiger’s Skin”, which she began working on in 2009, are particularly significant in her oeuvre. The book was published three times: in 2009 and 2012, and in Hebrew in 2014. Ketevan Matabeli and her students organized the first exhibition in Georgia using the Braille alphabet, allowing those who are blind or visually challenged to experience art through touching the artifacts.
