Anthimoz Gorgaze, an Honored Artist of Georgia, was a sculptor, metal engraver, and teacher. An alumnus of the Tbilisi Academy of Arts, he graduated in 1949 and, starting in 1951, began participating in numerous exhibitions while teaching the art of metal engraving to the students.
He was mostly engaged in engraving, with his favorite material being aluminum, and created notable works such as The Bulls (1967. Aluminum), The Tiger (1966. Aluminium), Merani (1967. Aluminium), The Crown Holders (1967. Aluminium), Hunting (1968. Aluminium), and The Bull of Lashari (1967. Aluminium).
The works by the sculptor are kept in the Georgian National Gallery as well as in private collections.
