Giorgi Chachanidze graduated from Tbilisi State Art Academy (1984-1989). Since 1997, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of Georgia. In 1993, he worked as the head of the painting group at the Folklore Palace of Georgia, and in 1994-2006 he was the head of S.T.U. Associate Professor of the Department of Fine Arts. Since 2007, he has been working as a drawing teacher at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Art Academy of Georgia. Since 1990, he has been collaborating as an artist-illustrator with the following publishing houses: Our Writing, Omega, Criminal Chronicle, Drosha, Dila, Bakmi. In 2012, he became a laureate in the nomination of the international competition – the Best Illustrations (Illustrations of sacred texts – New Testament). Giorgi Chachanidze had a number of personal (Exhibition Hall of TSS Academy, 2014; National Library of Georgia, 2010; “Universi” Gallery, Tbilisi, 2004) and group exhibitions (Spring exhibition of Georgian Artists, Moma Tbilisi, 2023; exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of A. Kazbegi, Museum of Literature, Tbilisi, 2010; group exhibition of the Union of Artists, Tbilisi, 2007; exhibition of Professors and Teachers of the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Georgia, 2004; Christmas Exhibition-Festival, National Gallery, Tbilisi, 2004; Autumn Exhibition, National Gallery, Tbilisi, Georgia 1997; Days of German Culture in Georgia, “Tacita” Gallery, Tbilisi, 1993, etc.). The artist’s works are preserved in private collections – Georgia, Germany, Russia, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Poland.
