Zaira Bechvaia, after graduating from the Yakob Nikoladze Art School, continued her studies in 1973 at the Faculty of Painting at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, under the guidance of prominent public artists A. Kutateladze, K. Makharadze and E. Kalandadze’s class. She had a number of solo exhibitions: Moscow Artist’s House (1993), Vienna (1998), Zugdidi Art Gallery (1999), National Library (2003) (Tbilisi), Culture Center – Muse (2014, Tbilisi). She has participated in a number of group exhibitions in Tbilisi, Kharagauli History Museum (2017), group exhibition Louvre (2018, Paris) and New York (2019). The artist’s works are kept in the National Gallery of Georgia and in private collections in France, Germany, England, Norway, Russia, Turkey, Bulgaria, South Africa and the USA.
