Felix Varlamishvili (Varla) was born in Kutaisi, Georgia in 1903.

He studied at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts from 1922 till 1926;  the same year (1926) he founded a private art school in Tbilisi, Georgia
In 1928 he moved to France. In 1933 he hag his first personal exhibition in Gallery Speranza in Paris.
In 1934 Felix Varlamashivili (Varla) married Danish painter Zire Binder
Between 1948 and 1952 the artist lived and worked in Argentina.
In 1952 Felix Varlamashivili (Varla) came back to Paris, where he passed away at the age of 83 on 6th of February in 1986.
