Nikoloz Koka Tsikhelashvili was born in Tbilisi. In 1982-1988, he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tbilisi State Art Academy. The diploma work was sent to the exhibition of the best diploma works of the Soviet Union in Moscow. From 2005 to 2022, he was an associate professor at the Tbilisi State Art Academy. Koka Tsikhelashvili mainly works in two mediums – painting and graphics. His works constitute a single self-contained ecosystem. In this world, the interplay of halftones and flexible shapes creates complex decorative compositions. Koka’s works often depict a female figure or a group of figures, images of animals – mainly horses. Transparency is essential in the works of Koka Tsikhelashvili, color is created with air layers of different colors.
Koka Tsikhelashvili’s paintings and graphics are preserved in many museums, galleries and private collections in Georgia, Europe and North America.
