Burduli Nana (Nanuli)

Nana Burduli was born in 1960 in Tbilisi, in the family of the artist Levan Burduli. In 1986 she graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. She worked as a theater artist and, in parallel with her studies, collaborated with the Student Theater of Tbilisi Polytechnic University and the Tengiz Chantladze State Theater of Satire and Humor. She taught painting at the International Center of Georgian Folklore in Tbilisi. Since 1986, she has participated in group exhibitions at the Tbilisi National Gallery, as well as in Moscow and Tallinn. In 2008-2009, she worked at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts as a lecturer in painting and drawing, and in 2006-2008 at Legionowski Uniwersytet Trzeciego Wieku – as a lecturer in painting and drawing.

She has illustrated many artistic and educational books; including: K. Brown – Sitz and Molly and the Secret Lair, Penny Swift – Totmouse Tales, I. Malatsidze. N. Janashia – Little Alphabet, Annabelle Livingston – Mango Tree, M. Tsiklauri – Ritual of Eternity. Fairy Tale, Alphabet, Sun Eyes. Book covers: White Calves, Lighthouse Keeper, Publishing House GORGA – Brazilian Tales, illustrations and graphic design in the magazines FOCUS and WIEDZA I ŻYCIE; illustrations for the books of Julian Tuwim (EM SA) Idzie Grześ and Dzońcio and others.

Since 1995 she has been living and working in Poland. Currently working in painting, book illustration and computer graphics.
