Temo Javakhi Solo Exhibition Games of the Mind

Temo Javakhi’s solo exhibition Games of the Mind will open at the Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery on 4 September 2026 at 6:00 pm. The exhibition marks the artist’s 75th birthday.

Bringing together works created in a range of media over the course of Javakhi’s 48-year career, the exhibition reflects his enduring interest in rethinking the objects, words, signs, and meanings that we often accept as fixed and one-dimensional features of everyday life.

The exhibition takes as its starting point the innate human drive to understand and explore the world around us. Beginning in childhood and continuing throughout life, this process shapes a multilayered system of perception, emotion, and experience. Javakhi explores the dynamics of this process through the metaphor of games of the mind. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the inner mechanisms of perception that determine how we see, read, and interpret reality.

Games of the Mind will remain on view through 4 October 2026.
