D. Shevardnadze National Gallery presents Badri Lomsianidze solo exhibition.<\/p>\n
Badri Lomsianidze was born in Kutaisi, Georgia (1961). After graduating Kuta\u00edsi School of Fine Arts and then Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, B. Lomsianidze continues his career in Spain. His solo exhibition is held in Georgia for the first time.<\/p>\n
Exhibition will be opened on 9th of August at 18:00 and will last till 9 of September, 2023.<\/p>\n
Badri Lomsianidze (Kutaisi, Georgia, 1961) is a multidisciplinary artist who studied fine arts, namely textile design. From the beginning, he understood that textiles could be connected to his art better than any other material. The flexibility and elasticity of fabrics allow their natural integration into the artist’s canvases and installations, acquiring a significant physical density, full of meaning. On the other hand, the nature of textiles and its expressive properties stimulate artistic creativity towards allegorical communication channels of special sophistication, in Badri Lomsianidze’s work a deep balance is perceived between expressionism and the purity of classical forms. Visual and sensory pleasure is a prerequisite for the artist who develops towards more harmonious working forms and materials: a combination of transparencies, a softer color palette and, above all, the visible presence of fabrics, light and delicate. The use of such heterogeneous resources contributes to the creation of a work characterized by its versatility and technique, in addition to its distinctive and recognizable character.
