The artist&#8217;s first show was held at the Assembly Hall of Tbilisi State University in 1964, and it was equated with &#8220;formalism and bourgeois art&#8221; by official bodies. That was considered a non-conformist art form in the Soviet Union. Drawing objects, assemblages, spatial objects, or other signs featured in conceptual art by Temo Japaridze are regarded as innovative in Georgian fine art.
