Temur Tatanashvili was born in the Kaspi region of Georgia. He graduated from Tbilisi Iakob Nikoladze State Art School in 1975. Since 1979, the artist of the 1980s has been an active participant in Spring, Autumn, Soviet Republics, and international exhibitions. Temur Tatanashvili’s paintings convey the language of generalization. Interrelations and harmonic synthesis of colorful spots or depictions of symbolic forms create expressiveness in scenes representing religious or everyday life. The artist received the 3rd Prize for best painting at the Soviet Republics exhibition in Moscow in 1989. In 1998, he was awarded the Georgian Artists’ Union Award and a medal for the best artwork of the year. Temur Tatanashvili’s works are
preserved in the collections of the Georgian National Museum and Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow.
